Tata Sons Private Limited, incorporated on 8 December 1917 and headquartered at Bombay House, Mumbai, is the holding company of the Tata Group and holds the promoter shareholding in major Tata firms including TCS. About two-thirds of its equity is held by philanthropic Tata trusts. It is an unlisted core-investment company; its value is driven largely by its stake in Tata Consultancy Services.
