Tata Consultancy Services was established in 1968 as a division of Tata Sons (with F.C. Kohli as its first leader), pioneering India's IT services industry. The present legal entity, Tata Consultancy Services Limited, was incorporated on 19 January 1995 and had its IPO in 2004. It is India's largest IT company by revenue and market capitalization and is listed on the BSE and NSE.
