CarDekho.com was launched in 2008 by brothers Amit Jain and Anurag Jain, IIT-Delhi alumni, under their company Girnar Software (GirnarSoft), founded in Jaipur in 2006-2007. Girnar Software Private Limited (incorporated 21 Dec 2006) is the parent of CarDekho, ZigWheels, Gaadi, BikeDekho and other 'Dekho' portals. It became a unicorn in October 2021 with a $1.2B valuation after a ~$250M pre-IPO round.
