This page explains what personal information StartupOriginals collects, why we collect it, who processes it on our behalf, and the choices you have. We collect the minimum needed to run your account and the newsletter. We do not sell your personal data.
To create and secure your account, deliver the newsletter you asked for, respond to your inquiries, protect the service from abuse, and understand aggregate usage (for example, how many people read an article). We do not use your personal data to train AI models.
We use a small set of trusted service providers who process data only to provide their function to us: email delivery (Resend), file/image storage (Cloudflare R2), search indexing (Typesense), AI features for content you explicitly submit (Groq / Google), optional error monitoring (Sentry), and Google for sign-in. We share personal data with them only as needed to run the service, and never sell it.
We keep account data for as long as your account exists, and newsletter data until you unsubscribe. Passwords are stored only as bcrypt hashes and sensitive personal fields are encrypted at rest. Transport is over HTTPS.
You can unsubscribe from any newsletter using the link in every email. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, or to export it, by emailing privacy@startuporiginals.com. See our GDPR / your-rights page for more.
The service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
We’ll update this page as our practices are formalised, and revise the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
