Riverwaves - A venture which is totally handloom based model of business was started with two basic parameters in mind. 1. Handloom is diminishing in India as power loom has overpowered so the first aspect of Riverwaves was to preserve our cultural heritage. Since every process in completing a product is done by hands we need a lot of manpower. Hence handloom would generate employment for maximum people involving manpower at every step of each process. 2. Secondly we are keen on handloom because we will be creating wealth for both the employees’ as well as for the nation. Handloom has a lot of demand and if we explore by giving an extra edge to handloom by creating varieties like scarves, handbags, slings, bed sheets, soft towels , table cloth , etc . We will definitely need more and more employees and when they get salary it’s a wealth creation for employees and the products when exported will attract foreign currency which in turn is a wealth creation for the company as well as nation. Hence Riverwaves has concentrated on handloom for employment generation and wealth creation as well as preserving our national cultural heritage.
