The growth of Internet of Things (IoT) devices and sensors has increased the potential surface area for attacks, posing increased risks and vulnerabilities to physical and cyber worlds. These threats are very real. A nuclear power plant in Germany was found infected by computer viruses perpetrated via a cyberattack, risking physical control of the plant and sensitive information to hackers. Today’s threats often keep one foot on each side of the physical and digital divide. These blended threats require connecting data, building new capabilities and gaining new insights to allow security teams to better defend against attacks.
