Nothing can be further from the truth. India, predominantly rural India has 70% of the workforce living in these areas, accounting for 46% of the national income. However with the changing demographics, climatic changes and political atmosphere, rural India has become a victim of this. The question in my minds has always been,”Do I continue with the way it is or be a part of India’s change?” After completing my MBA Finance from Christ University and working for 4 years, I had the opportunity of joining the SBI youth for India Fellowship program. The 13 month fellowship allowed me to work with a designated NGO, Aga Khan Rural Support Program in my case and opened my eyes to the problems of rural India. After my fellowship, I decided to return and create value not just to myself but to society as a whole.
