Indeema Fibers Pvt Ltd extensively working in the field of high strength materials development. Various indigenous technologies are being developed for the fabrication of high-performance fibres for various engineering applications including biotechnology. We proposed development and commercial manufacturing of high-performance Ultrahigh molecular weight polyethene fibres for bulletproof and anti-ballistic applications using gel spinning technique. The tensile strength targeted is >2.5 Gpa and Modulus of >65 Gpa and elongation of ~4%. Today, India is yet to manufactured our its own indigenous gel spun fibres, and we are depending on other counties for making bulletproof jackets/ helmets and biomaterials for our defence forces.
