Dubbaka Handlooms and Handicrafts Producer Company Limited have set an ambitious objective for us, which is to bring together the community of weavers and buyers in close contact with one another. That is to connect those who weave with those who wear. Weavers put a great deal of enthusiasm and effort into the creation of each and every pattern. Before the development of large cities with a variety of shopping options, the majority of purchasers used to make their purchases straight from weavers. This not only allowed the purchasers to recognise the effort that the weavers put in, but it also generated a tremendous feeling of fulfilment for the weavers themselves when they saw their work being worn by other people. Purchasing things in the present has become a very indifferent activity. The purchasers of goods today have a limited understanding of the production process behind the goods they use. We are making an attempt to shorten this distance. Now that we have a platform that allows weavers to directly publish their weaves online, we are able to provide everyone with a glimpse of the weaver who was responsible for crafting the weave.
