Blended learning is defined as the mixture of online and in-person delivery where the online portion effectively replaces some of the face-to-face contact time rather than supplementing it. Through blend-ed, learning is made possible in two parts- Online and instructor-led. In the former learners are provided with a personalized environment online where they take up the first hand information at their own pace and time-meaning the content is delivered as per the mastery level and learning style of the learners. The formative assessments provided along with the lessons help them to repeatedly work on the questions and get thorough with the content. Blend-ed also provides the technology for collaboration, resource sharing and extended learning. The extensive data an instructor gets about a learner helps him/her to effectively plan and deliver the latter instructor-led part.
