1)To undertake research and development in agriculture and allied sciences to innovate, develop and improve technologies including agricultural inputs like fertilizers, bio-control agents, chemicals, organic manures, seeds and breeds, methods and others. 2)to undertake teaching, extension, training, capacity building and management services including managing corporate social responsibility projects; training of trainers and advise on setting up of training institutions; and to assist associations, academic institutions, corporate bodies, governments, non-governmental organizations, public undertakings and others in India and abroad and to provide training facilities to clients from India and abroad on various aspects of agriculture and rural development; and to study specific sectors or commodities, publish study findings and other literature and contribute to visual media on agriculture and rural development themes; and to take up implementation of projects and programs on a turnkey basis; and to conduct seminars and workshops on rural development themes; and to organize rural market exhibitions and events and to organize distance learning and answering services for agribusiness
