We are developing Data Center Interconnect (DCI) modules. The DCIs are used for connecting servers, switches and other networking equipment within and across data centers using optical fiber links. The startup plans to develop optical transceivers based on high-speed electronic and photonic integrated circuits that will be developed by the startup. The demand for these modules is growing explosively. The startup licenses key technologies/IP from IIT Bombay, where the founder of the startup and his team have done proof-of-concept demonstrations of the chips and techniques that are part of the IP. The IP includes three very important granted US patents (and a few other patents that have been granted or in the pipeline). The disruptive technology developed by his team at IIT Bombay have several advantages, which include significantly reduced power consumption, latency and cost, and increased capacities of the DCIs.
