Agsmartic Technologies Pvt. Ltd. was founded in 2017 with the mission of helping farmers increase their farm yield using data. Presently, 36% of global land, suitable for production is used in Agriculture and India has a similar agricultural irrigated land percentage. Agriculture accounts for 13.7% of GDP and more than 50% of the workforce of India. India, currently ranks 2nd in farm output. According to World Bank, Cereal yield, measured as kilograms per hectare of harvested lands, for the period 2011-2015 is 2,962 and has been pretty much constant in the last few years. Today, India stands at 97th position in Cereal yield, whereas United State of America with only 2% of their workforce involved in Agriculture ranks in Top 10 in Cereal yield and total farm output. In the past decade, volume of data has grown at an exponential rate, so is the use of technology in agriculture domain. Globally, farmers are using drones, machines, data analytics to improve yield of their farm lands. India, in particular has not maintained the same pace in using technology.
