The Indian government has been encouraging application of drones in various sectors. Last August Indian introduced a new policy Drone Rules, 2021 which replaced complex approval process. The Honble’ Prime Minister also recently said in the recently concluded Bharat Drone Mahotsav ‘ that drone industry will emerge as key employment Generation sector in India and will revolutionise how service is provided to the public and also make it easier to provide government services”. However many technological challenges remain in this space in terms of endurance of drones, pay loads available for drones and navigation software.
