Breastfeeding Support for Indian Mothers (BSIM) is an internationally and nationally recognized organization that believes in empowering women by providing them with support and information. BSIM is a movement by breastfeeding mothers for breastfeeding mothers. It was established by Adhunika Prakash when she felt lonely and isolated on her own breastfeeding journey. Since then, BSIM has evolved from an individual’s personal breastfeeding struggles to a community of close to 1,35,000 breastfeeding parents and their families supporting each other during their breastfeeding journey. BSIM hopes to now work alongside Corporates to reduce barriers for women resuming employment post their maternity break. BSIM is also planning to release a course that will help educate breastfeeding mothers to become lactation counsellors.
