Cricket products from India are still only given an afterthought, if at all, despite being the largest producer of cricket equipment globally. Consumers globally, when looking to buy top-end quality cricketing goods end up either importing from the United Kingdom or Australia or prefer foreign brands available in India. Ironically, most of the equipment for these foreign brands is manufactured in India. Only the absolute best quality equipment in this sector is actually manufactured by the foreign brands in their bespoke workshops in the UK or Australia. There are over 3,500 bat manufacturing companies in India but only a handful of brands. Among them very few are recognized on a global scale or bring an international level of standard - with both production and brand value, to the table. Additionally, the products available in the local markets in India are overpopulated with low-quality goods with lacklustre finishes and marginal lifespans.
