HCLTech, Sarvam AI Partner For $1.48 Billion AI Data Centre Project In Odisha

HCLTech has partnered with AI startup Sarvam AI and the Government of Odisha to establish its first AI Data Centre in Bhubaneswar. The project involves an investment of ₹14,257 crore (around $1.48 billion) and will be developed at the upcoming Odisha Sovereign AI Park. The initiative aims to strengthen India’s sovereign AI ecosystem and expand enterprise AI capabilities.

A Major Investment in India’s AI Infrastructure

The AI Data Centre will combine HCLTech’s full-stack AI capabilities with Sarvam AI’s foundation models to create advanced AI solutions for businesses and government organizations. The project also includes financial assistance from the Odisha government, making it one of the country’s largest AI infrastructure investments.

Building AI Tools for Enterprises

The new facility will develop sector-specific AI applications that help enterprises automate operations, improve productivity, and adopt secure AI solutions. It is designed to support industries with AI infrastructure, computing power, and customized applications while addressing India’s growing demand for sovereign AI technologies.

Boost for Odisha’s Technology Ecosystem

Alongside the AI Data Centre, HCLTech will establish a 5,000-seat Global Technology Center in Bhubaneswar. The new campus is expected to begin operations by 2028 and will create employment opportunities while strengthening Odisha’s position as an emerging technology and innovation hub.
