Pamireddy Pitchi Reddy, also known as P P Reddy, is the founder of Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Ltd. (MEIL), one of India’s largest infrastructure companies. He was born in 1957 in Dokiparru, a small village in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, into a humble farming family. Starting with just ₹5 lakh and a small team in 1989, Reddy began his journey by taking up minor municipal contracts, such as laying pipelines.
Over time, MEIL grew into a major player in infrastructure development, handling large-scale projects across sectors like irrigation, power, roads, railways, defense, and oil and gas. The company has taken on high-profile projects including the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project in Telangana, the Polavaram project in Andhra Pradesh, the Zojila Tunnel in Jammu and Kashmir, and the Bandra-Kurla Complex station for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train. MEIL also operates internationally in countries like Bangladesh, Jordan, Tanzania, Zambia, and Kuwait.
As of 2024, P P Reddy’s estimated net worth is around ₹17,931 crore, and MEIL’s valuation stands at approximately ₹67,500 crore. He lives in a unique diamond-shaped house in Hyderabad, which has become a well-known landmark. He also owns a farmhouse with a private golf course.
Apart from business, Reddy is active in philanthropy. He has adopted his native village and installed solar-powered drinking water systems. He has supported hospitals, provided free meals to cancer patients, and contributed to the construction of schools and health centers. P P Reddy is married to Rama Reddy and has two daughters, Manjali and Megha, who are also involved in the business.
