RaastaFix is a newly launched platform founded by a team of IIT alumni that enables residents of Gurugram to quickly report civic problems like potholes, garbage, and waterlogging, all in less than 30 seconds. Built to simplify the tedious process of raising civic grievances, this app utilizes technology and artificial intelligence to ensure every complaint reaches the right department, making civic engagement faster, more transparent, and truly accessible.
The Genesis of RaastaFix:
RaastaFix was started by a Gurugram-based startup, Antino, led by co-founders Vinay Krishna Gupta (IIT Kharagpur), Rajesh Kumar (IIT Kharagpur), and Radhakanth Kodukula (IIT Bhubaneswar). Their personal frustration with the complex and slow-moving civic complaint systems inspired them to design a user-friendly, pro bono platform for the community. The aim was to bridge the wide gap between citizens and multiple municipal agencies, such as the Metropolitan Development Authority, Municipal Corporation, NHAI, PWD, RWAs, and even elected representatives.
How the App Works:
RaastaFix is designed for maximum ease. To report a problem, residents simply select an issue category, upload photos, allow the app to detect their location, and hit submit. No login or complicated forms are required, the process takes under 30 seconds. Each report is geo-tagged, time-stamped, and automatically forwarded to the relevant authorities. The colour-coded tracker lets users monitor complaint statuses in real time, removing the guesswork and delays often seen with existing setups.
Technologies and Features:
RaastaFix stands out for its AI-powered system, which automatically categorizes complaints based on urgency, type, and location, ensuring that critical issues are given priority. The platform’s design eliminates the need for residents to know which department to approach, and complaints can even be filed anonymously. The range of issues covered is broad, including potholes, garbage, electric hazards, stray animals, construction debris, stagnant water, and burning waste, with plans to expand further.
Impact and Recognition:
Since its launch, RaastaFix has gained attention from both citizens and officials. Senior government figures, including the Chief Principal Secretary to the Haryana Chief Minister, have encouraged the team to expand the app to more verticals like sanitation, C&D waste, stray animals, potholes, and sewer/flooding. RaastaFix has become a model of civic-tech innovation, offering a real-time, transparent channel for problem-solving that genuinely empowers residents and fosters accountability.
Vision for the Future:
RaastaFix is currently in its prototype phase for Gurugram, but the founders hope to bring the platform to more cities across India. There is a strong focus on building an AI-driven governance system for wider civic management, and the team is actively inviting communities interested in adopting RaastaFix to connect with them. Their broader mission is to create smarter, more accountable cities where technology serves the public good.
