Tesla Accelerates Supercharger Rollout, Preps for September Car Deliveries in India

Tesla has officially turbocharged its entry into the Indian market, launching its first Supercharger station in Mumbai and unveiling plans for rapid network expansion across key metropolitan hubs. With customer deliveries of the Model Y expected to kick off in September 2025, Tesla’s aggressive infrastructure push is set to dramatically boost electric vehicle adoption and redefine India’s charging landscape.

Mumbai: India’s First Tesla Supercharger Hub

On August 4, 2025, Tesla launched its inaugural Supercharger station at One BKC, Mumbai—right next to its flagship showroom. This high-tech facility includes four V4 DC Superchargers (each offering up to 250kW) and four 11kW AC Destination Chargers. EV owners can access lightning-fast charging, gaining 267km of range in just 15 minutes for the new Model Y, with DC speeds priced at ₹24/kWh and AC at ₹14/kWh. This level of convenience enables multiple round-trips across the city on a single quick charge.

Delhi and Beyond: Strategic Expansion Underway

Fresh off the Mumbai launch, Tesla has opened its second showroom—an 8,200 sq ft space in Delhi’s Aerocity—alongside four new V4 Superchargers. The company is rapidly establishing additional stations in Gurugram, Saket, and Noida, expanding the NCR footprint. Plans are also moving forward for Lower Parel, Navi Mumbai, and Thane, and the next wave of Superchargers will reach Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Ahmedabad, and Jaipur in the coming year. In total, Tesla’s roadmap promises at least eight supercharging sites within 12 months.

How Supercharging Works: Tech, Experience & Convenience

Tesla’s Superchargers are designed for ultra-fast DC charging, which restores 80% battery capacity in about 30 minutes and offers near-perfect reliability (99.95% uptime). Owners simply plug in and manage charging, payments, and battery monitoring with the Tesla mobile app. The Model Y’s navigation system also guides drivers to the nearest available charger and optimizes battery temperature for efficient charging upon arrival.

Deliveries and Model Y Highlights

The new Model Y, Tesla’s first car officially available in India, comes in Standard Range (₹59.89 lakh) and Long Range (₹67.89 lakh) variants, boasting 0–100km/h acceleration in under 6 seconds. Deliveries will begin in September 2025, with priority cities including Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, and Gurugram. To further ease EV adoption, every new Tesla car includes a complimentary wall connector for home charging.

Supporting Infrastructure and Customer Service

Tesla’s commitment extends beyond charging stations: the company will soon launch mobile service vans, remote diagnostics tools, dedicated service centers, and collision repair centers to provide a seamless ownership experience throughout India.

Why This Matters: The EV Revolution Accelerates

Tesla’s rapidly growing Supercharger network is a game-changer for Indian EV buyers, providing reliable, efficient infrastructure that cuts range anxiety and supports long-distance travel. The launch of advanced charging and service networks is expected to draw more consumers to electric vehicles, support India’s climate goals, and set a global standard for sustainable transport in the region.

Conclusion: A New Chapter for Indian Electric Mobility

Tesla’s strategic rollout of Superchargers and premium vehicles is transforming India’s EV market, ushering in a new age of convenience, speed, and sustainability. With delivery trucks gearing up for September and charging stations multiplying, Indian roads are about to witness the quiet, powerful rise of Tesla.
