PM Modi Unveils Special ₹100 Coin and Postage Stamp to Mark RSS Centenary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a special ₹100 commemorative coin and a postage stamp on October 1, 2025, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

A Historic Celebration in New Delhi:

The launch event took place at the Dr Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi. It was attended by senior RSS leaders, government officials, and cultural dignitaries. The commemorative coin and stamp are designed to reflect the RSS’s century-long contribution to India.

Symbolism of the Coin and Stamp:

PM Modi explained that the coin features the national emblem on one side, while the reverse side depicts Bharat Mata seated on a lion in ‘varad mudra’, with swayamsevaks bowing before her. He emphasized that this is the first time Bharat Mata has been featured on Indian currency.

The postage stamp carries an image of the RSS’s participation in the 1963 Republic Day Parade, marking an important moment in the organization’s history.

PM Modi’s Reflections:

The Prime Minister highlighted the RSS’s vision of “One India, Great India,” while recalling challenges faced by the organization after Independence. He underlined that “unity in diversity” has always been India’s strength and warned that weakening this principle could harm the nation.

Despite past obstacles, Modi said, the RSS has remained strong and continues to serve the country with dedication.
