“My Biggest Problem? The Commute”: Zepto CEO Aadit Palicha Criticizes Bengaluru Traffic

Zepto co-founder Aadit Palicha has voiced strong frustration with Bengaluru’s notorious traffic, especially when commuting to the airport. On the podcast Exploring Minds, he called that journey “the most painful thing” in his life, highlighting how everyday city infrastructure challenges continue to affect even startup leaders.

Commute as a Pain Point:

When asked what problem he would pay to solve immediately, Palicha didn’t shy away:

“The biggest problem that I have in my life is the commute whenever I need to take a flight from where I stay in Bangalore to the airport. That’s like the most painful thing that I have to do one or two times a month.”

He emphasized that while he deals with many operational and business challenges, the physical act of navigating congested roads is something he dreads.

On Infrastructure & Potential Solutions:

During the conversation, podcast host Shivank Joshi noted that several companies are exploring solutions to ease the airport commute. Some of these proposals may roll out by 2026 or 2027.

Palicha responded with cautious optimism:

“I’ll be very happy if that happens.”

The exchange underscores that while ideas are in motion, the path from planning to implementation in urban infrastructure can be slow and challenging.

Beyond Traffic: Communication Overload

Palicha didn’t limit his critique to traffic alone. He also touched on the complexity of managing communication across multiple platforms: email, Slack, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, and more. He said these often blend together and become overwhelming, calling for a more unified interface.

He mentioned:

“I’d rather have one interface where all that is happening.”

Though attempts have been made by startups like Beeper in Silicon Valley, Palicha admitted scaling such a solution is not trivial.
