From construction to blockbusters, investing ₹3,000 crore over five years

What began as a construction venture in Bengaluru has today evolved into a powerhouse that builds both cities and cinematic universes. Hombale Constructions and Estates Pvt. Ltd., founded in 2006 by visionary entrepreneurs Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda H.S., stands as a symbol of innovation, integrity, and excellence. From constructing roads and buildings to producing some of India’s biggest cinematic blockbusters, the Hombale name has become synonymous with quality and ambition.

Building a Strong Foundation in Construction:

Hombale Constructions started its journey in 2006, focusing on creating infrastructure that would stand the test of time. Based in Bengaluru, the company quickly grew into a trusted name in construction and infrastructure development.

Over the years, Hombale has delivered exceptional projects in:

  • Residential and commercial complexes
  • Irrigation and road development works
  • Electrical, interior, and solar installations

Every project reflects their commitment to precision, sustainability, and reliability, qualities that helped them earn the trust of clients and communities alike.

Expanding Horizons: The Birth of Hombale Films

Driven by a vision to tell impactful stories, the founders expanded their dream beyond infrastructure. In 2012, they launched Hombale Films, a film production house that would go on to redefine Kannada cinema and gain recognition across India.

Hombale Films brought together creativity and scale, creating films that blended cultural richness with global appeal. Their dedication to storytelling soon transformed the regional film industry into a national phenomenon.

Redefining Indian Cinema with Blockbusters:

Hombale Films has produced some of the biggest hits in recent Indian cinema. Among their most celebrated works are:

  • KGF: Chapter 1 & 2 – Starring Yash, these films were made on a combined budget of around ₹250 crore and went on to earn over ₹1,250 crore worldwide. The KGF series not only elevated Kannada cinema to a pan-India level but also cemented Hombale’s reputation as a powerhouse of storytelling.
  • Kantara – Made on a modest budget of ₹16 crore, Kantara became a cultural and commercial phenomenon, grossing over ₹400 crore globally. Its success was fueled by its deep-rooted story, authenticity, and emotional depth.

Continuing their golden streak, Kantara Chapter 1 recently hit theatres and has already crossed 5 million ticket sales, proving that Hombale’s storytelling magic continues to captivate audiences.

A Vision for the Future:

In January 2023, Hombale Films announced a massive ₹3,000 crore investment plan to expand its footprint in India’s entertainment industry over the next five years. This move underlines the founders’ long-term vision of making Hombale a global entertainment brand while nurturing India’s creative talent.

Meanwhile, Hombale Constructions continues to grow as one of South India’s leading infrastructure companies, balancing tradition with modernity and precision with purpose.

The Legacy of Vision and Innovation:

From constructing physical spaces to crafting emotional worlds, the journey of Hombale is a testament to vision, hard work, and innovation.

While Hombale Constructions continues to build with trust and quality, Hombale Films continues to build dreams through stories that transcend language and culture.

Together, they represent a unique blend of engineering excellence and artistic brilliance, leaving a lasting mark on both India’s infrastructure and cinema.
