Consumer appliance startup Atomberg Technologies is moving closer to a public market debut after its shareholders approved plans to raise up to ₹450 crore through a fresh issue of equity shares.
The company has also received approval for a pre-IPO placement of up to ₹90 crore before filing its red herring prospectus with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). The approvals were passed at Atomberg’s extraordinary general meeting held on August 12, 2026.
Atomberg intends to list its equity shares on one or more recognised stock exchanges. The company said the timing of the IPO will be decided after discussions with its book-running lead managers and other advisers and will remain subject to regulatory approvals.
What Happened?
Atomberg’s shareholders have approved a fresh issue of equity shares worth up to ₹450 crore as part of the company’s proposed initial public offering.
The final issue price and price band have not yet been determined. These will be decided in consultation with Atomberg’s book-running lead managers closer to the IPO.
The proposed public issue may also include an offer for sale (OFS) by existing shareholders. However, the latest filing does not specify the size of the OFS component.
Atomberg has also secured approval to raise up to ₹90 crore through a pre-IPO placement. The company can issue up to 9 crore equity shares to selected investors for an aggregate amount of up to ₹90 crore.
The pre-IPO placement is proposed to be completed on or before the filing of the red herring prospectus.
Importantly, the ₹90 crore pre-IPO placement would not necessarily be additional capital on top of the ₹450 crore fresh issue. If the placement is completed, the amount raised through the fresh issue may be reduced by the amount raised in the pre-IPO round.
Atomberg’s IPO Plans
The latest approvals represent a significant step forward in Atomberg’s IPO preparations.
In December 2025, Moneycontrol reported that Atomberg had appointed investment bankers for a proposed IPO of more than ₹2,000 crore. The reported structure was expected to include both a fresh issue and an OFS component.
At the time, Avendus Capital and IIFL Capital had been finalised as lead bankers, while Atomberg was in discussions with Axis Capital and ICICI Securities for another banking mandate.
Earlier reports had indicated that the proposed IPO could potentially value the company at around ₹20,000 crore if it raised approximately ₹2,000 crore at typical dilution levels. However, that valuation was an early estimate and was not a final IPO valuation.
The latest ₹450 crore fresh issue approval therefore represents a more specific capital-raising proposal than the broader IPO size discussed in earlier reports.
Pre-IPO Placement Could Reshape Fresh Issue
The proposed ₹90 crore pre-IPO placement gives Atomberg another route to bring institutional or other selected investors into the company before its public issue.
The placement can involve up to 9 crore equity shares and is expected to be completed before the filing of the RHP.
If the full ₹90 crore is raised through this route, the fresh issue component of the IPO would be reduced by the corresponding amount, based on the company’s approved structure.
This means the ₹450 crore fresh issue should not automatically be interpreted as ₹450 crore of additional capital on top of the pre-IPO placement.
The final IPO structure will depend on the amount raised through the placement, the OFS component, regulatory approvals and the eventual pricing of the public issue.
Company Background
Founded in 2012 by Manoj Meena and Sibabrata Das, Atomberg started with smart fans and has expanded into a wider range of consumer appliances.
Its portfolio includes smart fans, mixer grinders, water purifiers and other household products. The company has positioned itself around technology-enabled and energy-efficient appliances rather than competing solely as a traditional consumer-durables manufacturer.
Atomberg has attracted several prominent investors over the years, including Temasek, A91 Partners, Steadview Capital and Jungle Ventures.
The company had raised more than $150 million, or around ₹1,700 crore, before its IPO preparations. It was last reported to have been valued at around $450 million in 2023, when it raised $86 million.
According to Tracxn data cited by Moneycontrol, Atomberg reported revenue of ₹865 crore in FY24 and recorded a loss of ₹203 crore. The company had maintained growth of more than 30% in the preceding years.
Why This Matters
Atomberg’s IPO plans reflect the growing interest among Indian consumer and technology-led companies in accessing public markets.
The proposed listing could provide Atomberg with fresh capital to strengthen its business while also giving existing investors an opportunity to realise part of their holdings through an OFS.
The ₹450 crore fresh issue is particularly important because fresh capital raised through an IPO goes to the company, unlike an OFS where proceeds generally go to selling shareholders.
The pre-IPO placement also indicates that Atomberg is preparing its capital structure ahead of the public offering and could use the round to bring in selected investors before the IPO.
For India’s consumer-appliance sector, the listing could also offer public-market investors greater visibility into the economics of a technology-led home-appliance business.
Future Plans
Atomberg has said it intends to list its equity shares on one or more recognised stock exchanges, although the exact IPO timing has not been announced.
The company plans to consult its book-running lead managers and other advisers before deciding when to launch the issue. The IPO will also require the necessary regulatory approvals.
The company is expected to finalise the price band, issue price, OFS size and final capital structure closer to the public offering.
Its immediate focus is therefore on completing the pre-IPO process and preparing the necessary documentation before filing the red herring prospectus.
Conclusion
Atomberg has taken another major step towards its proposed IPO by approving a fresh equity issue of up to ₹450 crore and a pre-IPO placement of up to ₹90 crore.
The company has also left room for an OFS component, while the ₹90 crore pre-IPO placement could reduce the eventual size of the fresh issue if completed.
The approvals mark a significant development from the broader ₹2,000 crore IPO plans reported in late 2025.
With a portfolio spanning smart fans and other household appliances, a strong private-investor base and years of business expansion behind it, Atomberg is now moving closer to testing its business model in India’s public markets.
