Zoho Expands to Kerala and Acquires Asimov Robotics

Zoho, the software giant led by Sridhar Vembu, is expanding its footprint in India once again – this time by opening a brand-new campus in Kerala and acquiring Kochi-based robotics startup, Asimov Robotics. This is part of Zoho’s larger vision to nurture innovation and build technology solutions deeply rooted in local ecosystems, especially outside big metropolitan cities.

A Campus That Reflects Zoho’s Vision:

The new campus is located in the heart of Kerala’s capital, Thiruvananthapuram. This facility will act as both a development center and a research hub. In line with Zoho’s decentralized model, the Kerala office will help tap into local talent while boosting regional employment and innovation. Sridhar Vembu has long been vocal about empowering rural and semi-urban India, and this move further strengthens that mission.

Acquisition of Asimov Robotics: A Strategic Tech Push.

In a significant step towards expanding its tech portfolio, Zoho has acquired Asimov Robotics, a company known for its work in advanced robotics and automation. Asimov, led by CEO Jayakrishnan T, specializes in humanoid robots and has worked in sectors like healthcare, education, and customer service. With this acquisition, Zoho aims to build deeper capabilities in robotics and AI-powered automation, opening doors for future innovations in workplace automation and intelligent assistants.

Sridhar Vembu’s Long-Term Bet on Deep Tech:

This move is not just about growth – it’s a signal of Zoho’s evolving direction. Vembu has always believed in building long-term, foundational technologies in-house. By bringing Asimov’s robotics expertise into the Zoho ecosystem, the company is doubling down on deep tech and aligning its business with future trends like AI, robotics, and smart infrastructure.
